Name: Chip and Twinkie
Status: Available for Adoption (adoption info)
Species: Guinea Pig
Breed: Guinea Pig
Sex: Male
Activity Level: Moderately Active
Indoor or Outdoor: Indoor Only
Good with People: Friendly
Description:
Chip is an adorable all-white guinea pig with two black ears. When he was little they looked like little chocolate chips on his head. He's bold but friendly and has a very pleasant personality. His cagemate, Twinkie, is more shy but warms up quickly. The two of them play and chase each other and have a great time. They love floor time and wheek loudly each day for their veggies and hay!

***********
This guinea pig is looking for love and affection, but needs more than just a cage to live in.

Guinea pigs should never be kept alone, and our pigs are no exception. If you are not adopting as a companion for a pig or pigs at your home, you must adopt a pair or trio from our rescue so they will not be alone. These babies will not be adopted as a pet for children (though families who will share responsibility of the pet are acceptable), and must be kept indoors only.

Guinea pigs can live anywhere from 5 to sometimes 10 years or more if properly cared for. PLEASE make sure you are READY for a lifetime commitment for this animal before inquiring to adopt.

Guinea pigs need a daily diet of leafy greens and vegetables (this can be more pricey than the rest of the pigs' diet), with a premium quality pelleted food. We recommend Oxbow brand pellets. *Do NOT feed guinea pigs foods with corn or seeds added to the mix, this creates FAT and unhealthy pigs!* They also require unlimited timothy or timothy mixed hay, not alfalfa. We recommend C&C cages (www.guineapigcages.com) and can help you find supplies to build your own. To adopt one of our guinea pigs, you must already have a setup at the time of adoption OR allow us to help you find and build one for you. Adoption cannot be completed without a setup a the time of a home visit. These measures are taken strictly to ensure the best quality of life for our animals once they've been adopted.
