Molly is a beautiful pit bull pup who was starved of food and affection before being discovered by the police.  She is on the road to recovery now but we are accepting sponsors to help with her vet bills, and are in search of coupons for brands of high quality (specifically raw or grain free) dog food to assist in feeding her.  Please see her page for more details!

LOST IN AVONMORE, PA!!! 

Bunny (a STAR alumni) is a spayed female shepherd mix, black with tan markings and white on her chest. She is a rescue and is a FEARFUL dog who might cower, she should be wearing a collar. Brock is a neutered male basset mix, tan with a black saddle and while he is more outgoing than Bunny he is also a rescue and somewhat fearful. He was NOT wearing a collar. They were lost on valentine's day, 2011 on Long Run Road in Avonmore PA.  Both dogs are microchiped! Please DO NOT chase these dogs, you can try to lure them with food or another dog (Bunny adores other dogs!) and please, please, please call 724-840-2516 or 724-541-1412 if you see them!

Q. Why are there so few animals on your site? Are you closing?

STAR has run full force since its inception in 2004.  Behind the scenes there are very few people pulling the levers.  STAR's founder- foster to the vast majority of the animals you see on our site, webmaster, correspondence representative, transport driver and home visit/adoption facilitator- can only take in so many at a time.  If you'd like to get involved as a foster home or fundraising volunteer, please contact us!
